Chef’s Corner

Witness the magic as our very own Chef Craig Michaels shows you how to prepare an array of delicious food options during his “Chef Demo’s” every month. Chef Michaels creates a mouthwatering dish while explaining step-by-step what he is doing and how you can replicate it. Our residents love his demonstrations and we know you will too.

On May 23rd, instead of creating a dish of his choosing at his monthly demonstration, Chef Michaels lead tours of the kitchen explaining every area, what each piece of equipment was used for and how he used them to prepare the food for our residents. It astonished residents how much work goes in to preparing one meal for residents at Harvard Square. For Memorial Day, residents were delighted by the large cookout he created on our deck. It was such a great way to remember all of those who have served our country.

Chef Craig Michaels was born in Chicago, IL. While in high school, he started working as a hotel banquet cook, which led him to develop a passionate career in the food service industry. He has earned an Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts and a Bachelor’s Degree in Food Service Management.

Chef Michaels has worked in a variety of restaurants across the United States including Key West, Las Vegas, Chicago and Providence. Before moving to Denver in 2013, he spent 6 years working at an international restaurant in San Salvador, El Salvador. Chef Michaels is married and has 3 young children. His hobbies and interests include travel, great cuisine, hiking and running.

We cannot be more honored to have Chef Michaels at our community. His passion for food and desire to educate others about food and its preparation has added to our unique culture where residents and associates alike continue to thrive daily.
